Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information KIRIBAN Works collects through kiribanworks.com, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We have written it to match what this site actually does today: it is a brand site with a mailing list. We do not sell anything here yet, and we do not take payments or delivery addresses.
Who we are
KIRIBAN WORKS LIMITED ("KIRIBAN", "we", "us") is a company registered in Hong Kong and is the data user / controller for the information described in this policy.

What we collect
Information you give us
- Your email address, when you subscribe to project announcements and drop information. This is the only personal information we ask for today.
- Anything you write to us, if you contact us by email.
When member registration opens we will also collect a name, the virtual talent you follow, and — only if you choose to give them — a birthday (day and month only, never the year), a country, a mobile number, and the agencies you follow. We will update this policy before that happens.
Information collected automatically
Like any website, this site records technical information when you visit: IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring page, and the date and time. This comes from cookies and similar technologies used by our store platform. It is used to keep the site working, to keep it secure, and to understand in aggregate how it is used.
What we never collect here
We do not collect payment card details, bank details, government identification, or a delivery address on this site. We will never ask for a delivery address until you place an order.

Marketing email
We send one message when a project is announced and one when a window opens. Nothing else. Every message carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe by writing to us. We do not sell, rent or share your email address with anyone for their own marketing.
Who else handles your information
We use Shopify to host this site, store customer records and send our email. Shopify processes this information on our behalf under its own agreements and security obligations.
Shopify Network Intelligence. Our store has Shopify's Network Intelligence feature switched on. Under it, Shopify uses data from our store together with data from other Shopify stores to improve its own products, advertising targeting and personalisation, as set out in Shopify's Additional Services Terms. No other merchant can see our data, and this is a feature of the platform we sell on rather than a transfer of your information to an advertiser of ours. It is switched on for the whole store, so there is no per-person setting we can change for you. If you would prefer your information not to be used this way, write to us at the address above and we will delete your record.
We do not sell personal information. Apart from the above, we do not share it with third parties except:
- service providers who process it for us, on our instructions, such as Shopify;
- where we are required to by law, a court, or a regulator;
- to a buyer or successor if our business is reorganised or transferred, subject to this policy.
Where your information goes
We are based in Hong Kong, and our service providers operate servers outside Hong Kong, including in Canada, the United States and the European Union. Where information is transferred out of a jurisdiction that restricts transfers, we rely on our providers' contractual safeguards for that transfer.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, and for a short period afterwards so that we can honour your unsubscribe. Technical log information is kept for a limited period by our platform. We delete or anonymise information we no longer need.
Your rights
Wherever you are, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information about you we hold, and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your information;
- stop sending you marketing, at any time.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom you also have the right to restrict or object to certain processing, the right to receive your information in a portable form, the right to withdraw consent at any time (which does not affect anything done before you withdrew it), and the right to complain to your local supervisory authority.
If you are in Hong Kong, the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance gives you the right to request access to and correction of your personal data.
If you are in Japan, you may request disclosure, correction, or suspension of use of your personal information under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.
To exercise any of these, write to kirino.banri@kiribanworks.com. We will respond as quickly as we can and in any case within the time the applicable law allows.
Cookies
This site uses cookies that are necessary for it to work and to stay secure, and cookies that help us understand site use in aggregate. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; parts of the site may not work properly if you do.
Children
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
We will update this policy as KIRIBAN grows — in particular before member registration opens and before we begin selling. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change materially affects you, we will say so in a message to subscribers.
